Covid 19 Update - 4 July 2020

You will no doubt be aware that the Government are allowing places of worship to reopen this weekend. However, there are strict guidelines that must be followed in order to minimise the risk of them becoming centres of virus transmission. These guidelines significantly impact the way we ‘do’ church and include things such as restrictions on singing, keeping services short, encouraging people to move on quickly after the service and, of course, social distancing. As a church we are considering the best way to implement these guidelines, making preparations, and monitoring the overall situation, so that when we feel that the time is right and we can do so safely, we can reopen the church building.

In an update to Ministers and Church Leaders, the Elim Executive said:

" We therefore continue to urge and recommend local churches to take their time. The government guidelines do not yet permit many things that we consider vital elements of our shared worship and fellowship gatherings. At present, the importance of ensuring we do not increase any risk to others constrains us in so many ways."

So in the meantime, we will continue our online Sunday Weekly Worship and Tuesday Night Prayer meetings. The weekly worship is published on our web page and facebook page. Our prayer meeting is held using Google Meet - please use our contact form to get in touch if you would like the joining details.

Take care and God Bless,

Pastor and Deacons
